Against spending money for space

In the 1960's Kennedy set a goal to land on the moon, why did he do that? Hopefully to find new things, either way it ended up being a waste of time and billions of dollars. We spent all this money on space exploration because we were searching for new things, did we find anything? No. We have tons of our own issues going on in our country that we need to work on but instead we wasted all this money on a things of less important, that being space exploration.
Right now our country is in debt billions of dollars, if we weren't spending all this money on our space explorations that would be more money to go towards our current crisis back at home. If anything we should be setting aside our projects that aren't as important to work on our bigger issues. All your life you're told to put your needs before your wants, wouldn't that apply here too? What our country currently needs to do is fix our economy, not explore space. Outer space is always going to be there, it can wait, we need to do something about our economy before its too late.

Letter to someone 55 or older

Dear Gram,
Today in class we learned about the John F. Kennedy assassination. I understand that there were two people that got shot in the car. I know that the guy who shot him had problems growing up, but why he did it I still don't know. Some of my questions that I have still are why would anyone want to kill the president? Did he really get what he got? Did he deserve to die? I would like to know how it felt to know when he got shot. The people who were really close to him how did it make him feel when they all heard about it. The "Lone Gunman" I think there was something that was seriously wrong with him because growing up he did not have anyone. I think that a modern would not be similar because this was the president of the United States who everyone liked. A modern murder would be taken to the same offense people would be just as upset nut only the people who knew that person not the whole world like if it was the president.

Essays Exam #2

Essay #1
The war on terror is a response to the September 11 attacks. We are targeting them through violence in order to control them. "War on terror" is the common term for the military, political and legal, and ideological conflict. If we were not in Iraq there would be more global terrorism. By us being in Iraq, we are keeping them in one place. That strategy has paid off. From June 2007 through March 2008, sectarian and ethnic violence in Iraq was reduced by 90 percent. Civilian deaths and deaths of coalition forces fell by 70 percent. This has opened the way for a return to something that approaches normal political and economic life for the average Iraqi.
The war should be fought with a knew resolution because it is a thing that needs to be talked about. The september 11 attacks killed thousands of people it hurt everyone and everything around it. It should be taken affair that the people who did it were killed in the crash to.
The central front is in Iraq because there is always something going on there if not a war there is bombings going on killing innocent people. The central front is to be said that every day you dont know what is going to happen over in Iraq if there are going to be more soldiers going over or if there are going to be innocent people getting killed.

Essay #2
George H. W. Bush was the best president because he got in to the crouds held children he hugged people that were crying he cared about the country and everyone who was in it. Bill Clinton did not get in the crowds with the people and niether did Geoge W. Bush they stayed at there podiums and did his speech up there.
George W. Bush served for both terms and he helped us at a little but his father George H. W. Bush he wanted everyone to be happy he tried to help those who were in need. He was a real president he wanted the best for our country.
If there was someone in need of help George H. W. Bush was there doing the best he could. There was always someone there trying to help someone who did not have as much as they did.

Essay #3
They relate to that title because they all took a long time to get over. The long peace is meant to be that no matter how long something took to get over we will always have each other to get over something.
Foreign policy would be that the first walmart in China was a success. Technology development was that cell phones coming out. Societal Events would have to be the O. J. Simpson Trial.
The O.J. SImpson Trial went on for a long time. There are people still talking about it today. It was a double murder trial so people will talk about it for a long time.

Book Portfolio

A Midwife's Tale

I read A Midwife's Tale The Life of Martha Ballard, by, Laurel Thatcher Ulrich. The theme of this book would be if you put you're mind to something you can succeed in anything. This is a good theme because it really matches who she was because she was a midwife but she started young. Martha Ballard was a good midwife and she liked doing it to help people. The theme in history would be that Martha Ballard was a young and hard working person and was always there when someone needed her. When there was a difficult labor or if there was a family sick she was there. The cultural perspective is that she really had a feeling for helping people even if they were sick and even if she could not do anything for them she was there trying to help for what they should do.

The theme of this book would be if you put you're mind to something you can succeed in anything. The first thing that shows this is that she was always trying to help someone even if there was not much help to give she was there when a family came down with a there trying to help. The second thing would be her going through 816 births even those ones that the mother died or the baby died or both. She was there trying to help as much as she could. The third thing would be that she went through her own births and three of her children's deaths in one year.

The theme in history would be that Martha Ballard was a young and hard working person and was always there when someone needed her. The statement would be that she was a hard worker and was there when someone needed her. When there was a difficult birth going in another place and they needed he she rushed over to help them. When a child came down with a fever she was there trying to help them as much as she could. When there was a death of a mother during child birth she was there for the family. A specific theme in history would be that if you have something holding you back that you want to do you should fight to do what you want to do.

The matter of perspective to the theme would be that being only in her twenties Martha Ballard was a person who had her own life to go for with her kids and her husband but she always found time for her work and her family. First she had nine kids and was still helping those women who were giving birth and needed her. Second she had three of her kids die in one year. Third she had a husband that was 77 and she kept on working and tried to settle there age difference. This is significant because it shows who she really was and what she went through growing up.

So in conclusion even if you have something holding you back you should always go for what you believe in. No matter what you're age is you you can do what ever you put you're mind to. Being only in her twenties, having nine children, having three die in one year and also her husband who was seventy seven years old she never let that come before her work. It is reall important to consider this because she went through alot being only in her twenties and she died very young she is sort of like aa role model.

Exam 1 Essays

Essay 1- They failed beacause the people were to pushy they wanted to get things done to quick when it should take time. The Articles of the Confederation mostly failed because the first article did not work for our country. The rules were for the constituion and not the country.

The goal was to make things better for the country. They wanted things to be ruled by everyone and not just one person. They wanted everyone a part in what was going to happen in there country. The founding fathers wanted everyone to live in peace.

Some obstacles would be that there was to much power to everyone and it was going to there heads. Instead of everyone having a little part in what was going on in there country some people wanted all of the power. The Bill of Rights was added so there would be some sort of rules going on in the country that everyone had to go by no matter if you were the wealthiest or the poorest person you all had to go by the rules. It was mostly because so there would be strict rules.

Essay 2- When George Washington was president and then the birth of the political parties in the United States it helped that there was someone who knew what they were doing so everything would not get in a mess. George Washington was there to keep things in order and he did he helped separate the parties and helped pick who was going to be in them.

The significant parties were the parties that helped people that were in need. They were there to show that they do have power and would do anything the president asked them to keep there jobs. The parties were there to do some of the presidents dirty work.

The leader would be the head of the party or who ever was president at the time.

Essay 3-The executive branch you have to have a college degree, some one would have to elect you or nominate you. The powers that you would have would be the right to nominate things to make leagal or illegal. The limitations that are in relation to the other branches would be that they all have the same president and they all check in with the House of Representation. They will serve for about 4 years.

The Legislative Branch you would have to have a college degree, you would have to be elected or have someone nominate you if they think you have some good ideas or thye see great potential in you. They serve for about 6 years. The limitations that are in relation to the other branches would be that they all have the same president and they all check in with the House of Representation.

The judixcial Branch you will serve 8 years, you would have xxxxxsomeone nominate you or elect you by giving them like what you have done in school and what you know and what you are thinking about doing if elected. The powers are to make amendments . The limitations that are in relation to the other branches would be that they all have the same president and they all check in with the House of Representation.
